NEIL Gunnell, of the Henley Trains rail user group, praised the majority of guests arriving to attend Henley Royal Regatta last week.

He volunteered to help GWR staff at the station to welcome them. However, he said there were a few fare dodgers and about 10 people who arrived with the wrong ticket.

He said: “We had three boys arrive on one train on Saturday and when they walked towards the alleyway and saw the police and the ticket inspectors they jumped over the wall to the bike shed. One landed straight into the arms of one of the security blokes who deftly walked him back in.”
