HEMDEAN HOUSE offers affordable independent education with a friendly and calm working environment. They have class sizes of approximately 16 boys and girls in the junior school and 12 girls in the senior school.

The staff get to know every individual member of the school community and their boys and girls know they have an important contribution to make.

Their confidence grows with the support and nurturing from dedicated and experienced teaching staff.

Many pupils achieve Level 5 in English and Maths at the end of Year 6 and gain places in their first choice of senior schools, including successful admissions to Kendrick and Reading Schools.

Their GCSE results continue to be excellent — this year 43 per cent of GCSE grades were A/A* and 88 per cent were C or above.

The staff feel that their pupils are well-equipped for the next stage of their education, as confident, respectful and self-motivated learners.
