PEPPARD Primary is a successful and happy school. The staff pride themselves on developing the “whole child” and being small ensures that the much-esteemed family ethos is felt by all who come to the school.
The school, which dates back to 1871, is situated on the edge of the common in Peppard with pupils coming from the neighbouring villages of Rotherfield Greys, Highmoor and Sonning Common although some travel from further afield. There are currently 90 children on roll organised into four classes.
The school is part of the Chiltern Edge Partnership, which consists of several local primary schools and a comprehensive. They combine to exchange ideas, resources and aim together, to provide extended schools services.
Plans have been approved and land acquired to develop new school premises on a nearby site, to provide a state-of-the-art new building. This will provide more suitable accommodation with an outside area for each class, together with playing fields in an area of outstanding beauty.
Visitors are welcome to come and visit this small, delightful village school, nestled on the edge of the common, between Henley and Reading, where children are happy and thoroughly enjoy learning.
The staff pride themselves on providing the best opportunities and experiences for pupils, so that they achieve fully and become lifelong learners.
In addition to the blissful rural environment, in an area of outstanding beauty, their recent OFSTED inspection rated the school as “Good” with areas of “Outstanding”.
