HEMDEAN House offers affordable independent education with a friendly and calm working environment.

There are class sizes of approximately 16 boys and girls in the junior school and 12 girls in the senior school.

The staff get to know every individual member of the school community and boys and girls know they have an important contribution to make. Their confidence grows with the support and nurturing they receive from dedicated and experienced teaching staff.

Many pupils achieve level 5 in English and Maths at the end of Year 6 and gain places in their first choice of senior schools, including successful admissions to Kendrick and Reading Schools.

Hemdean House’s GCSE results continue to be excellent, and this year 43 per cent of GCSE grades were A/A* and 88 per cent were C or above.

Staff feel that their pupils leave the school well-equipped for the next stage of their education, as confident, respectful and self-motivated learners.
