A PRIMARY school in Caversham has been ordered to improve.
Ofsted inspectors who visited Thameside primary in November said the school “requires improvement” in three out of four categories — achievement of pupils, quality of teaching and leadership and management.
Inspectors were especially concerned about the quality of teaching in mathematics and in the Early Years Foundation Stage.
The school’s last report in 2011 rated the school “satisfactory” — the equivalent of “requires improvement” before the rating system was changed in 2012.
That report also found mathematics results to be well below average.
