THE college’s sport award, which is sponsored by the Henley Standard, was won by Alex Horsfield.
The 18-year-old from Marlow said: “I was surprised to receive it as there were a couple of other people in the year who I thought would get it before me. But I was thrilled — it’s something to put on the CV.”
The college said that Alex’s work for the BTEC extended diploma in sport and exercise sciences was well researched and meticulously presented and he achieved a distinction in all 18 course units. He also had a perfect attendance and punctuality record.
He said: “There was a reasonable amount of work involved because there’s no exams, just coursework. It’s just about time management.
“I really enjoyed it so that’s why I put a lot of time into it. The tutors and teachers at the college were fantastic and the teaching was excellent.”
