Update: 'Suspicious' package in Colnbrook 'deemed not to present any danger'

Update: Monday, October 20 at 10pm:

Thames Valley Police has confirmed the 'suspicious incident' they attended in Colnbrook has concluded.

The package was assessed by the Ministry of Defence Explosive Ordnance Disposal team and 'deemed not to present any danger'.

The force thanked the local community for its patience while the 'suspicious package' was being evaluated.

A spokesperson said: "We always treat incidents such as this with the utmost priority to keep people safe, and we appreciate the patience and understanding of the local community while this was being evaluated."

Update: Monday, October 20 at 8pm:

Thames Valley Police is dealing with a 'suspicious package' at the site of an air freight company in Colnbrook.

The force reported at approximately 7.30pm today (Monday) that it is currently attending an incident on Bath Road at the site of Goldstar (Heathrow) Ltd.

A 100m evacuation is ongoing in the surrounding areas and a further 200m cordon is in place.

This has been put in as a precautionary measure while the package is evacuated.

Thames Valley Police said this could impact local traffic, and people are urged to avoid the immediate vicinity.
