Man dies after being rescued from Thames

A MAN died after falling into the Thames in Caversham on Sunday evening.

Police said the man, who was in his twenties, was rescued from the river by firefighters and taken by ambulance to the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading, where he died.

A spokesman said: “Police are treating the death as unexplained but not suspicious at this time. The deceased man’s next of kin are yet to be informed.”
