CELLARS of properties in Middle and Lower Assendon could be flooded as groundwater continues to rise due to persistent and prolonged rainfall.
Following the wet winter, groundwater in the chalk is currently the highest recorded since March 2014.
The Environment Agency monitoring well at Stonor Park is 11m above normal.
The threshold for groundwater flooding of cellars is expected to be reached within days. The Assendon Stream has not yet begun to flow but the situation is being monitored.
