CHILDREN and staff at Rupert House School in Henley dressed in red, white and blue to mark the coronation.
They also sang the coronation song Defender Of Us All followed by the National Anthem.
The independent school in Bell Street hosted a crown-making competition and another competition to make a king’s carriage out of recycled materials, which was won by Evangeline
Baxter-Barrier, of the nursery class.
Pupils also took part in a range of coronation-themed races and games, including regal races, welly throwing, cup of tea race and crown coconut shy.
These were followed by Morris dancing on the lawn.
Headmaster Nick Armitage said: “Thank you to our parent group and the staff who made the morning so enjoyable for the children.
“While they had great fun, it was also a super way for the children to learn more about King Charles’s coronation, the role the royal family plays in society and the importance of celebrating such a special occasion.”
