ABOUT 150 people attended a garden party at the Flowing Spring pub in Playhatch to celebrate the King’s coronation.
The free event included live music as well as a hat competition and parade.
There was a collection for homeless charity Hope in Action, which raised £350.
The headliners were Boxset, from Twyford, who played a mix of well-known songs.
They were supported by the Rocket Kings, who performed their own material.
Guests paraded their headwear creations on the “hatwalk”.
The entries included a Union flag hat with fish and chips and mushy peas on top and an assortment of crowns. Landlord Nick Willson said: “It was a coronation party with six live acts, which were all local and played all sorts of music on a stage in the garden. Everyone had been worried about the weather but the sun shone and people came out in good numbers.
“It was a really nice, chilled out summer afternoon.
“We decided to raise money for Hope in Action because it helps finance houses for the homeless and offers long-term support as well as help to get them work and a permanent home.
“The amount we raised was brilliant.”
