THE musical Miss Saigon is returning to the New Theatre Oxford for the first time in 20 years.

Inspired by Madame Butterfly, it was written by Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg.

In the last days of the Vietnam War, 17-year-old Kim falls in love with Chris, an American soldier, but they are separated by the fall of Saigon.

Three years later, Kim and her son go on a journey to find him.

In its earlier iteration at the theatre in George Street, the production was scaled down, whereas this time, the show will be staged in full, including the iconic helicopter scene.

Oxford singer Ace stars as Gigi, with Seann Miley Moore as the Engineer and Julianne Pundan as Kim.

Miss Saigon is at the New Theatre Oxford from Tuesday, December 16 to Saturday, January 3.
