PRINCESS Anne visited the National Transport Trust Awards in Fawley Hill on Tuesday.
The Princess Royal, who is a patron of the trust, awarded certificates to winners and stood for a speech.
After the ceremony, she took a short train journey aboard a 1925 Saddle Tank engine, named Perry, which was restored by Jack Dibnah.
She said: “To all those of you who enjoy coming to this and supporting the National Transport Trust and understand what it means in the long term thank you very much indeed.”
The awards recognise the preservation and restoration of vehicles including boats, cars and train engines.
