FIREFIGHTERS cleared smoke from a house in Rotherfield Greys after cooking was left unattended.

Crews were called to the property in Flowercrofts on Tuesday at about 2.45pm after light smoke had triggered an alarm.

An off-duty firefighter in the area had heard the alarm and called 999. The crew then used fans to ventilate the property before leaving at 3.05pm.
