Hambleden reinstated in Slough Senior Cup

HAMBLEDEN have secured a place in the Slough Senior Cup semi-finals after Frontline, who beat them 5-1 on December 3, were kicked out of the competition for fielding an ineligible player.

After the game it was alleged that Frontline had played a player currently under a suspension and ineligible to play. An appeal regarding this was put in to the cup organisers which consequently was upheld and the tie was awarded to Hambleden.

Meanwhile, Hambleden head coach Peter North has announced he is retiring at the end of the year after two seasons with the Stags.

North was instrumental in helping Hambleden win consecutive league titles. He has been coaching for more than 40 years and has a wealth of experience, coaching development and academy players at Torquay United, Arsenal and Exeter City. North has also been coach/assistant manager with Step 5 side Witheridge in the South West.

As a player, North played at a high standard for Rickmansworth Town, Evergreen and Chorleywood

with the likes of Joe Kinnear and Vinny Jones and won many awards over the years. North’s highlight of his career was winning coach of the year in 2014 where he met HRH Princess Anne.
