Captains in epic challenge

Badgemore Park Golf Club Men’s and Ladies’ captains Melvyn Keen and Sandy Johnson are taking on the epic challenge of playing 72 holes in a single day to raise money for charity.

They were due to tee off at 4.30am today (Friday) at Badgemore Park before moving on to Mapledurham Golf Club and returning to Badgemore Park to finish their golfing odyssey, hopefully by about 8pm.

Keen will be raising money for CUREUsher, which funds research to find a cure for Usher’s Syndrome, which causes genetically inherited combined hearing and sight loss.

Johnson will be fundraising for the Chiltern Centre, which provides care to disabled young people to empower them to live life to the full.
