SONNING Common-based Kennylands Gymnastics Club had gymnasts competing in all three categories of the southern region finals for the performance, pre-cxcel and excel grades at Rushmoor Gymnastics Academy.
All three Kennylands gymnasts passed their respective grades.
In performance 1, Darcy Rawson competed as one of the youngest in a large field. After only a year in competitive gymnastics she passed one of the most difficult grades for her age group and remained calm on the competition floor.
In pre-excel, Arabella Cooper performed beautiful routines and had a clean competition with no falls. With impressive performances for all around, Cooper secured a fifth place on the floor and sixth all around in a demanding category.
In excel 2, the penultimate elite grade and a prestigious category, Amelia Caffyn passed having secured fifth on vault, second on bars and range and conditioning and first on beam and floor.
Caffyn also secured the all around champion title in an extremely difficult field. She received a plaque for her success, and qualified to represent the south for excel 2 national finals in Stoke in May.
