Clean sweep for Wharton at south regional finals

COMPETITORS from Kennylands Gymnastics Club picked up two all around championship crowns as well as qualifying for the national finals at the recent South Region finals held at Dynamo Gymnastics Club in Southampton.

In the bronze 11-12 years, Lillie Knights finished second on the floor, third on the bars, fourth on vault and fifth on beam.

Amber Wharton won all her events in the bronze 13-14 years and in doing so qualified for the national finals. Wharton won her events in vault, bars, beam, floor and all around. Arabella Cooper performed upgraded routines and demonstrated her beautiful artistry on the floor exercise in a large and impressive category in the pre fig development.

Meanwhile, Amelia Caffyn in the fig development 2, qualified for the national finals after finishing first in both all around and floor, second on bars and bearn and fourth on the vault.

Edie Hodges finished second on the beam and floor in the FIG aspire two peices event while in the FIG junior two pieces event, Jessie-Mae Teeuwen finished fourth on the floor and fifth on vault.
