THE contract to build the new Townlands Hospital in Henley has been awarded.
Amber Solutions for Care has agreed a £16million deal with VINCI Construction to build the “health campus”.
The 2.36 hectare development will include a new 18-bed community hospital, a 64-bed care home and a 12-bed palliative care unit.
The construction company will be the principal contractor for the project and provide maintenance for 25 years. Townlands will remain fully operational for the duration of the two-year build, which began last month.
The new care home, which is moving from Chilterns End in Greys Road, has a construction value of £6.1million and will be owned and operated by Oxfordshire County Council and the Orders of St John Care Trust.
