AN aerobatics pilot and student who died after a crash near Henley have been named.
Emily Collett was with Tom Castle, a student flier, when their light aircraft crashed into a field near Stonor at around 2pm on Saturday (August 24).
Both the pilot, 36, and the passenger, 43, were pronounced dead at the scene.
It is believed that they were practising spins in a Pitts S-2A two-seater when the incident happened.
Thames Valley Police assisted Air Accidents Investigation Branch to examine the scene and determine the cause of the crash.
Some of the wreckage will be taken to a centre in Hampshire for further analysis.
Residents reported severe traffic delays on the main road through the village for some time afterwards.
The families of the victims have been notified and nobody on the ground was hurt.
It is believed that Mrs Collett had taken off from White Waltham airfield, near Maidenhead, where she her husband Mike ran Ultimate Aerobatics.
They were both pilots, who represented the British Aerobatics team.
