Michael Bublé tribute act woos audiences at Living Advent Calendar

A MICHAEL BUBLÉ tribute act was the surprise on night three of this year’s Henley Living Advent Calendar.

Singer Marc Hockley performed as “Mike All Bublé” at the ballroom at Phyllis Court Club on Sunday night.

More than 100 people enjoyed the nine-song set which included “It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas”, “Holly Jolly Christmas” and “The Christmas Sweater”.

Hockley, who has performed at the event four times, encouraged the audience to sing along and included the line “I love Henley” in one of his songs.

Event organiser and compere for the evening Richard Rodway told the audience that the “eagle-eyed” Ted Lasso fans in the room might also have noticed that Mr Hockley appeared as a member of the West Ham Utd coaching team in the third series of the comedy show on Apple TV.

Hockley has also performed another tribute act, Robbing Williams, since 1999, where he sings hits by Take That star Robbie Williams.

Richard Rodway said; “I am always delighted to be able to secure acts of Marc’s quality for the event and think it’s such a great fit having “Bublé” in the ballroom at the club at Christmas”.

Audience members enjoyed mince pies and mulled wine and there was a raffle raising funds for one of the Phyllis Court charity committee’s charities Alzheimer's Dementia Support. Orchard House IFAs were the nightly sponsoring partners.

Mr Hockley said; “It feels like Christmas has started now.” and asked the audience if they would have him back next year”. The answer was a unanimous yes.
