ON Saturday two accidents happened to members of the Henley Post Office staff. The first was to Mr Lame, when riding his tricycle in the neighbourhood of Shiplake. A collision occurred between him and a motor van, resulting in his being cut and bruised and his machine badly smashed. The other accident happened to Mr Preston. He was descending a hill near Greys on his bicycle when his machine skidded and was found lying unconscious.

On Armistice Day the Royal Grammar School assembled just before 11am and the head boy placed a handsome wreath of laurel and Flanders poppies on the school war memorial. The two minutes’ silence was followed by a short prayer, the hymn For all the Saints and the National Anthem.
