THREE children’s centres in the Henley area could be hit by new cuts to be made by Oxfordshire County Council. The authority says it faces having to make another £20 million in savings over the next four years on top of more than £50 million already planned following a “bleak” funding settlement from the Government. The centres are at the d:two centre in Henley, Chiltern Edge School in Sonning Common and in Chalgrove and Watlington.
AN essential member of the team at a charity shop in Henley has been stolen. Dachsie, a life-sized dachshund model, was taken from the window display at the Blue Cross store in Duke Street. He was used to model products that are sold in the shop, such as dog leads.
