NICOLE Kidman, as chief executive Romy, and Harris Dickinson, as her intern, Samuel, show each other who is the boss in Halina Reijn’s erotic drama Babygirl (18), out at the Regal Picturehouse in Henley today (Friday).

Romy is happily married to Jacob (Antonio Banderas) with two daughters and she has hit the high life running her company. When Samuel steps into her office, sparks begin to fly, but is she risking everything?

The film has a running time of just under two hours.

Angelina Jolie takes on the role of Maria Callas, opera’s greatest diva, in biopic Maria (12A), also out today.

In the opulence of her life in Paris in the Seventies, the world-famous Greek-American opera singer looks back over her illustrious career, painful romances and the powerful emotions wrought by the various operas she made her own.

Directed by Pablo Larraín, the film has a running time of just over two hours.

In a remake of F W Murnau’s renowned silent film from 1922, itself based on Bram Stoker’s vampire novel Dracula, director Robert Eggers has created a haunting, immersive gothic horror in Nosferatu (15).

Ellen Hutter (Lily-Rose Depp) has accidentally summoned an evil being, Count Orlok (Bill Skarsgård). She finds wedded bliss with her husband, Thomas (Nicholas Hoult), but he is sent away to visit an aged client in Transylvania.

Emma goes to stay with her friend, Anna Harding (Emma Corrin), and is plagued by visions. She is visited, first by Dr Wilhelm Sievers (Ralph Ineson) and then by eccentric professor, Albin Eberhart von Franz (Willem Dafoe).

Evil spirits, blood and crucifixes abound.

The film has a running time of two hours and 13 minutes.
