Club calls for new players to realise their potential

Mixed matches were played throughout the evening as Henley Hockey Club hosted its annual pre-season club night at Jubilee Park on Wednesday last week.

The event saw a large turnout of players and their families’ enjoying drinks and pizza after the matches. It was an opportunity to give all tiers of the club a relaxed hockey evening before pre-season club training began this week.

The club welcomed a number of new players to the evening and is keen to welcome more new members. Spokeswoman Charlotte Cockerton said with the new season starting imminently it was an ideal time to join, and all abilities were welcome. She added: “We have an exciting player sponsorship opportunity for the ladies first eleven for the new season. The team are well established in South Central Premier Division 1 and are looking to build on their prior successes.

“The sponsorship includes fully paid membership, club kit and reduced match fees for the season. Henley are not the biggest club in the area, but we are an incredibly supportive and friendly club with a great coaching team and opportunities for every player to fulfil their potential.”
