HENLEY Town went down to a one-goal defeat in their Reading and District Sunday League Division 4 clash at King’s Head.
The match got off to a slow start with both teams trying to gain control. King’s Head took the lead when they capitalised on some defensive indecision from Henley. A deflected cross looped over the Henley goakeeper to give the hosts a 2-0 half-time lead.
Town increased the tempo in the second half and were a lot more aggressive in all aspects of the game in the second half.
Dominating the second half, the pressure eventually told when Alex Jackson got to the byline and pulled the ball back for Sully Priestley to tuck it away neatly.
Henley tried valiantly to bag an equaliser but were unable to take their chances.
