CHILDREN at Robert Piggott Junior School in Wargrave dressed as characters including David Walliams’ Gangsta Granny and The Mad Hatter and The Cat in the Hat. Many also brought in the books in which their characters feature.
Teacher Vanessa O’Byrne, who organised the day, said: “We had a great day celebrating World Book Day.
“We dressed up as our favourite book characters and raised money to buy books for children in the developing world.
“During the course of the day we shared books, read about famous authors and read, read, read!”
