Christmas rail works

Rail revamp

ENGINEERING work will impact train services over the Christmas period.

No trains will operate from London Paddington from December 24 to 27 due to new signalling and track equipment being laid.

Network is carrying out preparatory drainage and railway infrastructure work as part of the construction of HS2’s new station at Old Oak Common, near Paddington.

Train services to and from Paddington on Sunday (November 26) will also be impacted. Most Great Western Rail services will start or terminate at Reading instead of Paddington and limited services will run to or from Slough until noon and then Ealing Broadway. The Elizabeth Line will not operate.

Alternatively, GWR tickets can be used with South Western Railway between Reading and London Waterloo, or on Chiltern Railways between Oxford and London Marylebone.
