HUNDREDS of people visited Henley Rugby Club for its annual Oktoberfest celebration on Saturday, September 20.
The event, which is one of the main fundraising activities held for the club throughout the year, raised almost £3,000 to spend on new projects around the club.
The club’s brewery partner, Windsor & Eton Brewery, provided a beer stall, and Henley Gin also served beverages.
Live music and children’s activities were running from 1pm.
Alistair Beynon, the club’s commercial manager, said he was happy with the turnout despite “dicey” weather. He said: “I always find it a little bit weird that apparently Oktoberfest is in September but apparently that’s how it’s done.
“It’s really fun for the whole family, that’s an important thing for us.
“It helps raise money for the club as well, which is obviously really important.
“It’s always a little bit weather-dependent, the weather today has been a bit dicey but we have done well to dodge the worst part of the rain earlier this afternoon.
“It was a really good day, we’ve got some live music on now which is great, and hopefully people stay for a few more hours, fingers crossed.”
