A PRIMARY school Christmas fair raised a record £3,200.
The event was held at Sonning Common primary on November 29 and managed to raise £1,000 more than the fair held last year.
The money will be given to the parent-teacher association, which organised the fair.
Attractions included a bottle tombola, wrapped present tombola, lucky dip and snowball throws. It also featured a game called “Reindeer Hoopla”, where children aimed to throw inflatable hoops on to inflatable reindeer antlers that other children wore on their heads.
The school transformed its “nest”, which is usually used for pastoral time, into Santa’s Grotto for children.
A crafts stall was set up for children waiting to meet Santa and children were also able to have nail painting, face painting and face gems.
Parents donated gifts for the hamper raffle, which included a gifts from Forresters hairdressers, such as hair products and a voucher for a free haircut and a chocolate hamper from a parent who works for Mars.
The school choir and glee club performed, practising several songs for their upcoming Young Voices concert in Birmingham Arena in January. Other children performed with recorders and handbells.
Other stalls were held by Sonning Common Pre-school, the Friends of Sonning Common Library and Shedquarters.
A kitchen café served gammon rolls, sausage rolls and hummus and vegetable rolls, as well as refreshments and mulled wine.
