MacLean and Thomas

MacLean and Thomas

AILSA MacLean and Michael Thomas were married at St John the Baptist Church in Kidmore End on July 20.

The bride is the daughter of Calum and Jane MacLean, from Kidmore End, and the groom is the son of Stephen and Sarah Thomas, from Tutbury in Staffordshire.

Ailsa, who wore a lace dress from Love Spell Design, was escorted through the village from the family home by her parents, with her father in Highland dress.

They were accompanied by the three bridesmaids, the bride’s sisters Kirsty and Iona and friend Lizzie Turney. All carried beautiful bouquets made by Brambles Florist in Sonning Common. Several villagers turned out to cheer.

The service was conducted by Rev James Stickings, the rector of Peppard and Kidmore End and Sonning Common.

The church flowers were arranged by villagers Moira Laurie and Elizabeth Chandler.

The best man was the groom’s brother Matthew.

The couple met at Birmingham University where they both studied medicine and they now live and work in Manchester, Ailsa as a GP and Mikey as a trainee surgeon.

They are to honeymoon in New Zealand later in the year.
