A CLASSIC British sports car that always set the pulse racing makes a welcome return this week, writes Nigel Wigmore.

The reborn British sports car maker TVR has said that it will be at the London Motor Show, which takes place in Battersea Park (May 5 to 8).

The company has attracted worldwide interest since announcing the all-new British designed and built sports car. Incorporating Gordon Murray’s innovative iStream technology, the car will be launched in 2017.

This new age TVR will feature a super-lightweight iStream carbon-reinforced chassis powered by a V8 engine developed by Cosworth, another legendary British motorsport name.

Not much is being given away about the new TVR, but the show offers fans of the marque an opportunity to see “the silhouette and physical shape in a full-size representation of the new car.”

The full exterior design will be unveiled to all customers who have placed an order later this year.

TVR chairman Les Edgar said: “We have built enormous momentum over the past 12 months, to the point at which we now hold more than 350 deposits from enthusiastic individuals who are keen to be proud owners and drivers of the new TVR.”
