A JOHN Piper painting workshop and art history masterclass with local artist and tutor Caroline Crawford is to be held at the River & Rowing Museum in Henley.
The day will include a private view of the John Piper Gallery and a presentation on the artist.
Participants will then use his work, visual examples and references to create a painting to take away with Caroline’s guidance.
Piper (1903-1992) moved to Fawley Bottom with his wife, Myfanwy Evans, in 1934, where they raised their four children. The artist was also a photographer, writer, critic, poet and pianist.
The workshop and masterclass is on Saturday, February 24 from 9.30am to 4.30pm. It costs £100, which includes with free parking, museum admission and lunch. All guides, materials and references are supplied. To book, email events@rrm.co.uk
