Half-term fun for children

THE River & Rowing Museum in Henley is offering some family activities including crafts, pancakes and fancy dress during the half term break.

On Monday, from 10.30am to 11.30am, there is Bird Buddies — craft with Maddy.

Children (most suitable for those under six) can design a bird decoration complete with seed pouch, ready to feed the birds this spring. Tickets cost £7.50.

On Tuesday, there will be Shrove Tuesday celebrations and a pancake regatta. From 10.30am to 11.30am, children can explore customs from around the world, including making a mask for the Mardi Gras carnival. Tickets cost £7.50.

From 11.50am to 12.40pm, there will be a pancake regatta on Mill Meadows. The races start at noon (£1 entry, no booking required). There will be a selection of prizes, which will be handed out by Mr Toad.

On Wednesday, from 10.30am to 11.30am, Sock it to me, Teddy Valentines will involve transforming an odd old sock into a teddy bear with a big heart to celebrate Valentine’s Day.

On Thursday, the Unicorns, Dragons and Magical Creatures family day runs from 10am to 1pm (included with museum entry). Put on your fancy dress and enjoy crafts, arts, stories and songs inspired by these legendary creatures.
