HENLEY HAWKS 1sts secured a hard-fought 37-31 victory against ANGELS in their Maidenhead and District League Premier Division clash last week.

The team showcased their determination and strength throughout the match, demonstrating sharp shooting and cohesive play under pressure.

Despite strong opposition, Hawks maintained their composure to edge ahead in the final moments and claim the win.

HENLEY HAWKS 1sts maintained their good form to remain top of the table after defeating MAGNET STEEL 46-36.

The Hawks took control of the match early on, led by Katie Bayfield, who showcased clinical shooting, supported by Sammy Johnston-Coff, feeding well into the circle.

In defence, Lydia Johnston-Coff and goalkeeper Chanti Stubbs applied relentless pressure, making it difficult for Steels shooters to find their rhythm. This strong team effort saw the Hawks finish the first quarter with a four-goal lead.

The second quarter was tightly contested as both teams struggled to adjust to slippery court conditions.

George Robertson worked tirelessly to steady the mid-court and ensure consistent transitions, allowing the Hawks to maintain their edge, and to lead by five goals at half-time.

Magnet Steel came out in the second half with renewed determination, narrowing the gap to just three goals by the end of the third quarter.

In response, the Hawks switched their defensive setup, with Chanti Stubbs and Lydia Johnston-Coff swapping positions. This change disrupted Steels momentum, as the pair adapted seamlessly to their new roles and continued to frustrate Steels’ attacking plays.

The final quarter saw the Hawks take full control of the game. Katie Bayfield’s shooting accuracy shone through, while Sammy Johnston-Coff and George Robertson delivered key turnovers to keep the pressure on Steel. With their defensive duo back on top form, the Hawks extended their lead to secure a 10-goal victory.

Diamonds’ clinical shooting in the second half extended their lead as they ran out winners by 27 goals.

HENLEY HAWKS 4ths went down to a narrow 28-26 defeat in their Division 4 clash with PINK FLAMINGOS BLUSH.

The first quarter was evenly matched, with both teams battling hard to find rhythm and maintain possession. In the second quarter, Blush applied pressure, but Hawks responded with resilience, refusing to let the game slip away.

Hawks came out firing in the second half, cutting into the Blush lead and closing the gap to just three goals by the end of the third quarter.

HENLEY HAWKS MEN recorded a 41-33 win against SURREY MEN.

The Hawks took control of the game, storming to a 14-8 lead by the end of the first quarter. Javi Marin Florido was in unstoppable form, finding the net with precision and linking up well with brother Dani Marin Florido in the mid-court. Stephen Kelly was equally impressive, working tirelessly alongside Javi to capitalise on every opportunity.

Zak Brown’s blistering pace saw him drive the ball into dangerous positions, keeping Surrey on their toes. In defence, Ray Atkinson intercepted high balls with ease, while Geoff Watts brought calm authority to the circle.

Charlie Jordan’s defensive awareness ensured Surrey’s attackers were constantly under pressure, forcing errors and turnovers.

Building on their momentum, the Hawks extended their lead to 27-15 by half-time.

In the second half Andy Phillips added energy and sharp feeds, linking with Javi Marin Florido and Brown. Meanwhile Atkinson and Jordan stood tall in defence, disrupting Surrey’s rhythm and shutting down their shooting options.
