ACTION is be taken to tackle South Oxfordshire’s traffic problems.
Three working groups have been set up — one to look at speeding and enforcement, another at heavy goods vehicles using towns such as Henley and Watlington as through-routes and the other at signage.
It follows a meeting in Watlington on Friday chaired by Henley MP John Howell and attended by about 30 representatives from Henley, Watlington, Cuxham, Ewelme, Lewknor, Pyrton, Shirburn and Swyncombe, among others.
Mr Howell said he called the meeting because of the number of similar traffic-related issues that had been raised with him.
Keith Lovelace, chairman of campaign group WATNEXT, complained about Watlington being used as a cut-through from the M40 to the M4, causing severe air pollution in the town.
