New Henley UKIP candidate announced

BARRY COOPER has been chosen by UKIP to be its parliamentary candidate for the Henley constituency at the 2015 general election.

He is currently the party’s Buckinghamshire chairman and stood for UKIP in the election for the Thames Valley police and crime commissioner in 2012.

Mr Cooper, who is married with two children and lives in Waddesdon, Buckinghamshire, said he was relishing the challenge.

He said: “The Conservatives have taken their traditionally strong vote in constituencies like Henley for granted.

That party now seems to hold the values and views of traditional Conservatives in contempt, particularly when it comes to issues such as protecting the countryside from development and maintaining rural traditions and identity.

UKIP offers a platform of common sense, pragmatic policies founded on the democratic ideal of actually listening to what voters want instead of telling them what they need.”
