John Howell MP elected to 1922 committee

HENLEY MP John Howell has been elected to the executive of the Conservative Party’s 1922 committee.

The committee consists of MPs but the executive positions are limited to backbenchers.

The committee meets every week while Parliament is in session and has direct access to the party leader.

The committee is named after the year a group of Conservative backbench MPs voted to end the coalition formed by the Liberal Party and the Conservative Party.
