Combined Henley and Abbey side secure league title

Combined Henley and Abbey side secure league title

IN an exhilarating BIL finals match, the combined Henley and Abbey U16s side emerged victorious against Brackley.

The first half unfolded as a tightly contested battle, with both teams fighting tooth and nail for dominance.

It was Henley’s Faith Kemboi who broke the deadlock, crossing the try line to open the scoring. Brackley swiftly responded with a try of their own, leaving the score tied at 5-5 going into half-time.

Henley found their rhythm in the second half and began to showcase their talent. Tries from Ellen Satterley, Jayda Pryce, Elsa Kearsey, and Honey Hajda, accompanied by accurate conversions from Ellen and Honey, propelled Henley into the lead.

Despite Brackley's valiant efforts to break through the Henley defence, they struggled to contain the relentless attack from the Henley team. This match also marked the transition for many players who will be moving up to play U18 rugby next season.

Henley girls are now seeking new players for next season’s campaign. Anyone interested in playing for the Henley girls side should contact lisa.tavinor@henleyhawks.co.uk for further details.
