Walking in footsteps of novelist and poet

A DISCOVERY walk uncovering the life of novelist and poet George Orwell will be held in Shiplake on Wednesday, May 14 from 2pm.

The walk will start from Shiplake station along the Thames Path National Trail towards Binfield Heath before walkers return to the village and pass the former residence of Orwell in Lower Shiplake.

It will be led by Phillipa Sanders, revealing how his childhood in the area may have influenced his writing.
