A COMMUNITY choir in Peppard presented cheques for more than £2,000 to four charities.
Harmony Choir, which rehearses at Peppard War Memorial Hall, donated £1,000 to Sonning Common Primary School, £500 to Sue Ryder, £500 to Duchess of Kent Hospice, and £250 Thames Valley Animal Welfare. Rachel Salmons, headteacher of the primary school, said the money would help fund repairs to the village swimming pool which is managed by the school.
Owen Chengun, community fundraiser from Duchess of Kent Hospice, said: “We’re very grateful for the support. Only a third of our services are funded by the Government so reliant on supporters like Harmony Choir.”
Yvonne Room, foster home co-ordinator at Thames Valley Animal Welfare, said: “This helps us with increasing vet bills.
“We run a neutering scheme to help people on benefits to get their cats neutered and try to stop the breeding of cats.”
