Bacon hits maximum

SONNING Common A continued their good form in Division 1 of the Reading and District League with a 9-1 win against Tilehurst RBL A, Ian Cole and Ed Lush with trebles as they moved up to second place.

The B and C teams clashed in the first of their derbies and it was the C team who emerged 6-4 winners thanks to a Danny Dockree maximum and two from Jon Abbott. Nigel Maltby and Brian Meheux both managed hard fought wins against Cath Venning in their 8-2 defeat against Kingfisher B.

In Division 3 a double from Jeremy Willis wasn’t quite enough to gain a share of the points as the E team lost 6-4 against Our Lady of Peace B.

The F team moved back among the Division 4 pace setters after winning 8-2 at Kingfisher L, Gerry Bacon and Oliver Bonser with maximums, while the G team lost 7-3 against Our Lady of Peace F.
