Villagers march on

THE Sonning Common and Peppard A side kept up the pressure on Kingfisher A in Division 1 of the Reading and District League with a convincing 9-1 victory against Sonning Sports A.

Daniel Moses won his three but not without a fight by Dave Croucher who forced a fifth end, but could not avoid losing his 100 per cent average, made worse when Gary Morgan inflicted his second defeat of the evening.

Danny Dockree won twice in the C team’s 8-2 defeat against Kingfisher B, while in a relegation battle Mike Douglas performed well for Kingfisher D at Sonning Common and Peppard D but the Sonning Common team fought back to draw 5-5 with wins from Simon Berry, Brian Meheux and Malcolm Gregory.

Jeremy Willis, Jim Warren and Anthony Reeve all starred as the E team beat Kingfisher J 10-0 in Division 3.

In Division 4 The F team won 7-3 at Kingfisher K, Graeme Streets and Oliver Bonser both gained trebles, while the G team won their first match of the season by beating Sonning Sports C 6-4. David Riddle won all three and Derek Wavell hit a double.
