THE Acorn Theatre Company was among the winners at the 52rd Henley Drama Festival, which took place at the Kenton Theatre from May 6 to 10.
It won the Jean Sutherland Cup for the judge’s favourite moments, particularly for the goats in Billy Goats Gruff and the door in Red Riding Hood.
The cast performed Fairly Awful Tales, which was taken from their performance last year.
The adjudicator commented on the fact that there were 27 performers.
Music was devised and performed by the cast with musical director Megan Henwood.
Acorn was also nominated for the special moment award and Benji Burfitt was nominated for best youth actor.
The company will be performing The Medusa, a tale of a wild-haired girl, in a private garden in Shiplake from Tuesday to Thursday, July 22 to 24.
