Unseen photos of Eighties icons

HYPERGALLERY in Market Place is featuring the unseen photographs of Zoe Wilson, who will be in the gallery over the next few weekends. Zoe, who took up close and personal shots of artists such as Prince, Tina Turner and Mick Jagger, first exhibited some of them at this year’s Henley Festival. She says: “The emotional response that the work got from the guests that came through the exhibition had a huge impact on me. It was a really powerful response.

“I was at Henley Festival two years ago as a guest and walked through Hypergallery, saw a photo being sold of Bruce Springsteen and said to Emily and Rob, ‘I’ve got pictures like this, but a different take’. The photos hadn’t come out of my attic for 35 to 40 years at that point.

“I started selling a few pieces privately and ended up at the festival next to Hypergallery and at the end of the festival, Emily said ‘Let’s do a residency’. So I’ve replenished supplies, there are some new pieces in there. It will be jolly good fun.”
