ON Monday, the inmates of the Poor Law Institution were taken to Shirburn Castle, where a fete was in progress in the charming grounds. The party was hospitably entertained by the Watlington members of the Board of Guardians and a very happy time was spent. Messrs S J Holton, C A Plomer and R Wilson (members of the board) accompanied the party.

The annual watermen’s and fishermen’s regatta takes place on Wednesday next, commencing at 9.30am and continuing all day, with the usual interval for luncheon. An excellent programme has been arranged and by the kindness of the Stewards, the use of the royal regatta enclosure has been granted.
