Editor, — I am responding to Sarah Thompson-Bell’s letter (Standard, January 26).
The above picture was taken in Harpsden last week. There were another two vehicles parked on the right-hand side on Monday morning.
I completely agree with Sarah that the workmen that are working between Mays Green and Perseverance Hill are causing unnecessary damage both to the road and the grass verges.
The potholes/roads are bad enough along there but the verges are being destroyed by the rain, making it impossible to see where the potholes are.
The road is muddy and if drivers go too fast, which they often do, they will skid and possibly cause an accident.
Where they are working is plenty big enough for vehicles to park.
I look forward to whoever is responsible rectifying this issue as soon as possible and before any further damage is caused. — Yours faithfully,
Edward Ponsonby
