HENLEY 3rds secured a hard earned point against promotion-pushing Bracknell 2nds last Saturday.

Henley were fielding a strong side and the pace in the attack of Mark Williams caused Bracknell problems from the outset. The Henley side were able to create chance after chance but they were unable to secure the finishing touch in front of goal.

Henley turned up the heat in the second half and secured short corner after short corner but the strong Bracknell keeper was able to combat all of the Henley shots.

Halfway into the second half, after quick build-up play, a Bracknell foot awarded Henley another short corner. After the failed attempts to pass their way into the net, the Henley side opted for a simple shot as James Baker rifled the ball under the keeper to put his side ahead.

Henley’s lead didn’t last long as Bracknell earned themselves a short corner and after a fortunate bounce their striker cannoned the ball past Ian Rechner in the Henley goal.
