THE opening two rounds of the Remenham Winter Series have been contested over the last fortnight.

The first was held at New Farm Fisheries near Maidenhead where Malcolm Pearce secured victory with 18lb 10oz consisting of two carp caught down the middle on the pole with maggot and a selection of smaller fish. Last Sunday at Holme Grange near Wokingham and with the mild weather continuing the resident carp were in feeding mood.

Steve Johnson fished both the pellet waggler and the bomb to good effect landing carp throughout the match and weighing in 154lb 8oz ahead of Dick Shillitto in second place with 115lb 14oz of carp and roach caught at 10 metres on the pole with meat and on the method feeder. In third place was Mark Garnett with 77lb 8oz of carp and roach mainly caught on the bomb with pellet.
