PETE BOWLES continued his good run of form as he won the second leg of Remenham’s Chairman’s Trophy held on Campbell’s Lake at Milton Pools.
Bowles fished the pole at six metres with meat before switching to the inside landing carp for a total of 148lb. Steve Johnson finished a close second with 144lb 4oz of carp caught on the pole with meat at 10 and six metres and in third place was Graham Dodd with 99lb of carp caught on the pole short with red maggot. Section winners were Paul Howard with 85lb 14oz and Trevor Pearce with 91lb 14oz.
Frobury Farm near Kingsclere provided the venue on Sunday for the third leg of the series. Steve Johnson was victorious on this occasion with an all carp net of 84lb 12oz landed on the pole at 10 metres with meat and paste and down the edge with meat over groundbait.
In second place was Trevor Pearce with 63lb 4oz of carp caught on the pole across to the far bank with pellet and on the inside with red maggot and in third place was Ian Chaplin with 42lb 12oz of carp landed on the pole at eight metres with pellet and down the edge with red maggot.
